Hi! I'm debating what accommodation that I should apply to. I want to go to fferm but am considering the studio option. I struggle with my sleep and know that the flats can be loud but I also don't want to miss out on socialising and having the 'normal experience'. Any advice?

Hiya! Someone from the Aber disc (lmk if you want a link) said they were in fferm (not studio) first year and had very little issues with noise. Obvs this is different depending on who you're put with but could happen in any accom.
He also said "if you wanna socialise and money isn't an issue I would say go with fferm, I liked it there a lot".

Hi there, You question is a great one as noise and living with new people is something that a lot of new students consider before moving to university. I would say that as a new student it is really important to meet other people and form new friendships to help with the change and transition of living away from home. Studio flats are great but you may find they are a little more lonely if you don't already know anyone. That said the studio flats in Fferm are in groups of 6-8 on corridors so there are other people around. The noise level in halls can be a concern but the university security operates a 24hr help line which you can call to report noise levels during the quiet period (23:00-08:30) and they will come round to assist.
