Please could someone help with Part a2.
I dont really know how to get r into the equation - is the next step supposed to split the fraction in some way?

Tbh, youd done the harder part and its often just a case of putting in the practice to get the last bit of algebraic fiddling sorted. Problems like this are often expressed in terms of the mass ratio as its not the absolute values that matter, rather their ratio/relative masses.
