Ccan’t just be me?

Hopefully not. I think that this website has a disproportionate amount of high achieving pupils (compared to IRL) so that might explain why the foundation tier threads other than for the language threads maybe aren’t as busy as the higher tier ones maybe.

Same thing with triple vs combined science.
Morning everyone! How did the exam go for you?

from what i remember
there were questions like whats the glucose formula and then there was one where u had to put the correct words in to complete the formula for photosynthesis, there was also the test for sugar and protein where u had to tell what to do to test and the colour it would turn at the end. there was a q at the start where u had to label an animal cell they like gave different options and u had to write the correct three that they were asking for.

first question contained an image of an animal cell, asked to label the parts (eg. nucleus, cell wall ect.) word bank was provided. it also asked for the function of the nucleus and mitochondria (multi choice)

second question was about magnification. you needed to measure a cell and do an equation related to image size vs real size.

there was another question relating to a microscope and how to use one.

there was also mention of osmosis, you had to do a multi choice and short response questions related to an experiment where they put a tube full of an unknown concentration of salt, in a glass of different salt concentrations.

there was a few questions about blood and the cardiovascular system. one was about the advantages and disadvantages about both donating and receiving blood. one was about what causes blood to clot. one was about what blood contains. one was about why we take blood from a vein rather than an artery. there was also a question about plaques building up in the coronary artery and what causes that to happen.

there were a few questions about gonorrhoea and what symptoms it causes.

there was a question about loss of mass after blowing a leaf at different fan speeds.

there was a 6 marker about digesting proteins and fats.

Great!
Just wondering if you are doing foundation paper because I sat foundation and for the magnification question I wrote image size in micrometers divided by real size in micro meters so I did 36000 dividied by 40 to get 900.
