I've been CELTA certified for 7 years, and tutored GCSE English for 3 years in Brexitland. I've also taught Functional Skills English primarily to second language speakers. I have an FdA in Creative & Professional Writing, a BA in EngLit/Creative Writing and an MA in Creative Writing. I am not QTS/QTLS or PGCE qualified.
I previously lived in Thailand in 2016 on a voluntary internship, and taught english in Poland in 2017, so I have experience of living and working in both countries, but not of the perspective of being a uni student.
I'm moving to Thailand this coming June (either to Chiang Mai or Bangkok) to teach English and plan to stay here for a few years or until I'm called somewhere else.
However, I am considering to self-fund and study a Master's Degree in Education as I slightly regret my Creative Writing MA a little in terms of career prospects. Obviously, my main route would be to study in Thailand as I'll already be there; but I've also heard nice things about studying in Poland. I would be happy to relocate to Poland if needed as I am inherently nomadic anyway. I would be looking at still working in a school while studying, even if working part-time.
Does anyone have any experiences of studying in either Thailand or Poland for an education-related degree? Finances/budgeting aren't a huge factor in my decision-making, but I need to more weigh out the quality of the degree courses, workload, demands and general uni life in both countries. First-hand experience is best to gain, so I'll hand it all over to you for any help!
