Msc Pre Reg Occupational Therapy at Cardiff

Hi, I was wondering if anyone's heard back yet for Pre Reg Occupational Therapy at Cardiff yet? Had my interview a month ago, and although they said it could be around the middle of May by the time we hear back, I'm getting impatient and anxious!

Try asking in the OT applicants thread:

Hi,

Congratulations to the both of you, how were you informed? I was told in interviews it would only be through the online SIMS portal so I have been checking it (somewhat constantly), where you emailed to say your application had been updated or did you just have to check regularly?

Thanks

Thank you, I was like you and constantly checking the SIMS portal multiple times a day. I received an email with my offer though (even though they told me I would only hear via the SIMS portal). I hope you hear back soon and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you! Maybe give them a ring in a week if you don’t hear back?

Thank you, I may try that. Just in case I am unsuccessful, could I ask, what experience did you have or what do you feel made you stand out as a successful applicant?

So me personally, I have approx 8 years of experience working with individuals with learning disabilities - over different settings including education, day centres and domiciliary. I also have a bit of experience of working in a children’s home, behaviours that challenge and supporting those with physical disabilities. My saving grace was definitely my experience, as my degree is in Fine Art - so quite the difference!
I’m not too sure what made me stand out to be honest, but if I were to guess it would be that I came off as passionate and confident about this line of work/ career. I have also worked closely with OTs in the past and spoke about the benefit of OT for behaviours that challenge (from my experience). I also made sure to ask questions at the end.

I hope I could be of some help? Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to ask. Good luck!
