Almost definitely Tide (hasn't been asked yet) and probably film as that last came up in 2020. For least likely I'd guess newspapers as they've come up pretty much every year except 2023 and SuperHuman (a/v advert).

Charity adverts have come up a lot before, but you're right about it being newly introduced so could happen.

I think there's a possibility of Black Panther coming up as well since that is a fairly new text, whereas I, Daniel Blake has come up a few times over the last few years. KOTV might also be one to look out for, not sure about radio since George the Poet is also a new text but Late Night Woman's hour was a question last year. Assassin's Creed was included in 3 questions last year so hopefully won't come up too much this year.

Definitely think Tide is coming up and let's pray it does.

Would Tide be section A and B? as in both representation and audience

My media teacher says that they can ask a question on media language for one of the texts we study, however the exam board says its always unseen. Should I bother with ML for the set texts or only focus on representation (Section A)?

Yes it can come up in either. The main areas of focus are media representation, language, audience and contexts but not industry. I still think it's likely to come up as an audience q tho

Focus on media language as well because it can be used for representation e.g: in Tide, the clothing illustrates typical fashion choices of 1960s women (connotations etc), representing them in a very conventional way.

Unseen newspapers was ML question Nov 2020 so hopefully not 😬
As for industry Black Panther and HYHGP haven't come up and Marketing, Revenue and Theory questions haven't come up yet so prioritise them
Tide hasn't come up for both Audience or Representation so very very likely

what about woman's hour radio podast, superhuman for advert but wateraid ( i know we dont study it anymore ) came up in nearly every year so hopefully they wont this year. Also BP is more likely than IDB isnt it

Does anyone know how the questions for the bought editions of The Times and The Mirror will work, as well as the ones for the online editions?

for section b?

Yeah - we learnt about them last year, but I can't remember what questions will come up about them. You have to refer to bought editions in questions when they ask, but I'm not sure about the online editions.

i think the question will just ask a generic q about how something is portrayed in the the editions we each study - like how are social and cultural contexts influenced in the set edition of the daily mirror for example but it'll always be based on audiences and industry. the online ones just want you to give a few examples from the websites n stuff
