Forensic science or midwifery/nursing

I'm a guy and I'm currently deciding my path. I'm very passionate about forensic science and find it quite interesting however part of me likes midwifery or nursing as an option. I'm quite lost, I'm still at a stage where I've got plenty of time. Forensic science I like alot for just how it is, midwifery I think I'll also very much like and nursing I like too however I just don't know!!!

Go to some uni open days this term and attend the subject talks for all the courses you are interested in, and talk to staff and students and ask questions. Then try and get some healthcare shadowing experience. Contact your local hospitals first and then try nursing homes, etc.

Hi @har1ey.odell ,

At LSBU we provide all 3: BSc (Hons) Forensic Science and multiple types of Nursing Courses: Learning Disability, Mental Health, Children and Adult Nursing. BSc (Hons) Midwifery.

I'd suggest you do some of the following:

•

Come to an Open Day, you can talk to academics, current students and Graduate students. - Talking to students will be you an inside on how it is to actually be a student on the course.

•

On our website we have a range of information such as the modules, I'd suggest you look at the modules and the description, see if its something you like:

Midwifery (3 year) | London South Bank University (lsbu.ac.uk)
Forensic Sciences | London South Bank University (lsbu.ac.uk)
Adult Nursing | London South Bank University (lsbu.ac.uk)

•

Placement? - For our nursing and midwifery course we provide placement. However, for Forensic Science we do not provide a placement year.

•

UniBuddy - This is another platform where you can talk to current students, and they can tell you there experience as a student.

•

Outreach Programs - Year round, we provide outreach programs, for multiple course, as you are interested in quiet a few, I'd suggest going to a couple different outreach days, so you can get a taste first hand, of what it feels like to be a student on one of our course.

•

Employment - I know you said you still have a lot of time, but thinking about what you want to do after you completed "Said" degree. Might help you with your decision.

As a Forensic Science Student myself, I'm slightly bias, however, I can say that which ever course you take LSBU is a great place to complete your studies.

I hope I managed to provide some suggests that you'll find useful.

Best Wishes
