Art GCSE Final Piece

Hello everyone. I've got my Art exam in about a week. I've decided that for my final piece I want to go down a more abstract route, which I haven't done before. For my year 10 and 11 PPE's I mostly did realism, and I managed to get 8's and 9's. I was wondering if I would still be able to get a grade 9 in Art even if my final piece is more abstract.

Hmm, you might be able to because there is more variation, but then again if you got 8s and 9s with realism then that might be the safest option, I tried out something new for my exam and four hours in my teacher told me to start again with something else, so if it was me then I would stick with what I know i'm best at in order to achieve the highest marks.
