A-levels for languages degree

Good afternoon everyone,

I'm taking the initial steps towards going back to university as a mature student studying languages (German).

I do need to spend a few years doing some prep though. For example, doing a couple of A-levels.

What A-level(s) would be best for entry into a competitive languages degree - yes, I guessed A-level German already  ?

I've previously studied maths, further maths, physics and chemistry A-levels plus university maths.
