International Student Loan Providers

Hello,

I'm in my final year at uni and my girlfriend who has already completed a bachelor degree is hoping to do a graduate degree in the UK. She is from Portugal and is planning to complete her masters in around the London area.

Now, because of BREXIT she is not able to apply with SFE as a EU home student but instead she is now classed as an international student.

So the main problem is, how do I find loan providers for her?

I tried searching online but there isn't much help, especially as most websites are for American citizens.

Does anyone have any experience in applying to a UK university as an international student, and how did you get your loan arranged?

I would appreciate if there was a list of loan providers or websites that could help my girlfriend out.

The only two I could find were Prodigy Finance and Lendwise.

Thank you

Are you sure you gf isn't eligible for student finance? This is from the gov.uk website:

You may be eligible if you’re an EU national, or a family member of an EU national, and all the following apply:

you have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme (no restrictions on how long you can stay)

you’ve normally lived in the UK, the EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland or overseas territories for the past 3 years (this is also known as being ‘ordinarily resident’)

you’ll be studying at a university or college in England

If not, are there any schemes in Portugal that offer funding for study abroad?

I have exactly the same problem and still haven’t figured it out. Did you find any solutions?
