Soo weird to see this... Paul is my English teacher!

That's so awesome! Please let him know how many schools watch him+ how famous he is! He's literally the best and saved my grades multiple times

Hey! How much do you suggest we write for this question? Panicking low key because people who do really well tend to write a lot, at least 4 paragraphs (excluding intro and conclusion) so I'm not sure what to do.

i think 3 or 4 is a good benchmark, but if you're struggling to reach that I usually plan 2 strong ones at the start and then get going, and then go back later and carry on planning and writing if I have time. I'm quite a detailed planner though so it tends to take me a little while, and prefer not to spend time planning paragraphs I won't end up having time to write.

i write 3 paragraphs every single time and have never scored below 36/40 . it’s about content not length

Defo agree with you planning is really important so you can just spend the rest of your time writing and getting those high marks!

i don't see how you would use it to be honest, though if there is speech in the two texts it may work? but its not assessing you on theory so best not to bother

i've found that blurting is really helpful for filling in gaps last minute - pick a topic and write in brief notes as much as you can remember then go over details you've missed, like names of linguists and stuff. stops you just going over details you already know really well, and doesn't take too long, so good if you're struggling to focus!

Section A: a choice of either a language change or diversity question (30 marks)

Section B: 2 contemporary texts (usually articles, blog posts, etc), analyse how well they present views about language change or diversity (40 marks) and write an article in response (30 marks)

How are you so certain it’s language change? Is it because of a trend in past papers or??
