Eye color & genetics

I know eyes can change colors through life and depends on melanin factors (MM, Mm, & mm), but those of you who have hazel eyes, what color are both of your parents eyes.

My parents have dark brown (dad) and blue (mum) 🙂 no clue how I ended up with hazel but yh.

I don't believe that it has something to do with the parent's colours, but with the alleles. Depends on which of them are dominant and which recessive and how the alleles of mother and father are combined with. But one is for sure: one of them - either the father or the mother - need a brown color.

Levels of melanin scattered throughout the eye. Eye color now relies on 16 factors not blue is recessive and brown is dominant.
