Clash of ideologies A2 CCEA 2024 exam

Hi I’m really struggling to revise clash of ideologies, I’m not sure where to start, it’s so complicated and it’s easy to get confused with all the tiny details. I keep being told what did Russia do and how did the west respond, but I’m very confused as to what they actually done and learning this from presentations, because of all the nitty gritty detailed required to learn, I’ve been trying to look at the e guide and seeing if I can get any thing from it or CCEA official textbook to see if I can gain a better understanding of the content but honestly I’m struggling, also any help on how to approach an essay would be greatly appreciated, can anyone help?
Sorry you've not had any responses about this. :frown: Are you sure you've posted in the right place? Here's a link to our subject forum which should help get you more responses if you post there.

Hello! I’m doing clash as well, and I think the key is to not get bogged down in the detail. My teacher was told by the chief examiner that it’s a “hope, skip and a jump” of the 20th century. Did you do Russia for AS, because that really helped me? I think the ccea e guide has far too much info and is quite complicated. I find if you break it down into periods 1917-24, 24-45, 45-56, 56-79 and 79-91 and mention both east and west then you should be ok.

And also, my teacher is under the impression that the markers are not 100% au fait with the details, so as long as you hammer the key terms and ensure it’s a good essay, it’ll be fine.

Don’t worry you’ll be fine!!
