Isaac Physics 'Trig' Question

I'm really confused, like utterly, I'm not too sure how to even start with the question (c). I dont think i really understand it very well, so if anyone could expplain what the question is asking for and guide me through it perhaps I would be over the moon! Thanks in advance!
