lae stratford 2024 enrolment

on results day, do you go to lae and enrol with your gcse grades or do we have to email them? also, are you able to do this if you have applied but have gotten rejected?

Hi I go LAES rn and last year when I applied, in the morning they sent out emails telling you to come and show your results (for us their system bugged so it was tad bit later around 12pm). I am not sure about being rejected but I know a few people who just walked in with good grades and got in so I wouldn't worry too much. Hope this helps.

As long as you reach the requirements grades you will more likely get in. But I am also applying to that school so on results day am going to get my results early then when I get the email am going to go there fast so I can avoid the long line. I didn't get a conditional offer so am not sure if it applies to me of getting the email. Please reply plus how are the extra curriculars do you have to do one before you go home? ( Like is it compulsory)

Sorry for the late reply we had exams and I totally forgot about this, I don't think the email applies due to the offer part but I am not 100% sure, if I was you I would just apply to a school so that you definitely have somewhere to go then go lae and try (sometimes they still have space for people who didn't get a conditional), we still had people joining even a week into school since they transferred later so I wouldn't lose hope.

As for the extra curricular, in y12 during every mornings registration they remind you of the lectures, trips and any opportunities going on that week. Some of them are compulsory whereas some aren't (I cannot give you a ratio since it depends on what subjects you take plus there were so many of them not even I remember). Other than that, they make you do volunteering for a bit, you either find your own place (like your old school) or they give you a choice, which mostly consists of other secondary schools and a primary school. If you take on leadership roles you will go on more trips or if you do well academically (i think). I am not sure if this counts but just to lyk half the year they do clubs (like baking or arabic) and the other half they do sports (but you have to travel alone to venues since as you know the school doesnt have any sports facilities themselves).

Hey same situation, I got 8s and 9s in my gcse and didn’t even make it to the reserve list. I applied again today and didn’t even get a msg. Do people genuinely need all 9s to get in

i think it depends on ur subject choices tbh, if you’re doing biochem esp u probably need all 9s since SOOO many others are doing it, but less popular choices you can probably get on even with lower grades as less people are applying

noo i haven’t i’ve been waiting, i even emailed and stuff but nth came. i’m going to try secure a place at my own sixthform bc i spoke to one of the SLT yesterday and he said that we been bout on waiting list and might start later if spaces open up
