Girl cries after first day of work "How do you have time for your life?"

Nobody likes to work. All jobs are tiring, stressful and demanding mentally or physically. I guess students find out only when they start working.

“Welcome to adulthood,” one person commented.
Another wrote, “Welcome to life. Love Gen X"
One person wrote, “I had a crisis when I got my first 9-5 job. Literally I couldn’t believe this was life.”
The 40-hour work week is beyond outdated, and your feelings are totally valid," reads the top comment.

One user agreed, writing, "No, this is so real, and any time I bring it up, everyone just kinda shrugs and says, 'Welcome to the real world.' Surely, there is more to life??????"
"It's so repetitive and depressing," a second person said, "I feel you girl."

A third TikToker shared, "I had a crisis when I got my first 9-5 job. Literally, I couldn't believe this was life."
"Tbh, it doesn't get better," a fourth TikTok user commented. "You just learn to force things in after work despite being exhausted [because] u feel like ur being cheated of time." Isn't this so sad?!

All I would say is "get over it" too. Some of us were were in jobs well before we turned 16 or had other major responsibilities at that age.

Not that I would expect Sh*tTok users to understand. They eat tide pods and dance next to moving cars.
I actually had a bit more free time when I started full-time work (9am-5pm) and stopped being a student. The main adjustment was simply to the inflexibility of a working day. For example, having my car MOTed and serviced requires annual leave, and I struggle to book non-essential appointments (eg for a haircut, eye test, etc.).

Now, I’m probably back on a par with being a student. I work 9am-5.30pm in my current job and also study for my professional exams. Outside of work I have my two volunteering roles (including TSR) and martial arts training. I think it’s just about making time for the things you enjoy and making sure to not overdo it!

Basically we have to live just to work and make the boss rich. Disappointing

No we don't! Our lives are what we make of them; we can choose what we prioritise and make time for outside of work. Some even make the choice to work for themselves, which obviously isn't an option available to everyone but it's still possible.

they are right. it's modern slavery. you have to be blind/brainwashed not to see it.
If she had a restaurant or retail job she’d be complaining even more, and be grateful shes got an office job.
At least you can sit down in an office job without it feeling like you’ve offended your manager.

‘If you’ve got time to lean, you’ve got time to clean’ 😭 hate that phrase

I leave home at 7am for a 40 min walk to start work at 8am, 8 hours, walk 40 mins home and spend virtually all day on my feet, doing around 6 miles a day in total - and I love my job! Plus I can fit in everything she's moaning about.

I also managed my personal and social life just fine when I did (nominally) 12 hours shifts, days and nights, but you had to get there 30 mins before the start and stay for up to 2 hours after the 'official' end.

All she's done is try to generate likes and has shown her current and future potential bosses she's disorganised and can't cope with pressure. Wait a bit and she'll have given up her job to be an 'influencer', ie unemployed...
Just watched the video. Doesn't have time to shower or eat, but has time to do her eye make-up, have a manicure and make a video for Thick Tok? I'll add 'unable to prioritise' to her list of failures.

Work is too demanding and tiring and we don't have really a choice in life, most of our time is just wasted to make the boss rich. That's the harsh truth
