Uni of Bristol north village vs west village accommodation - pls help

I have firmed Bristol and have to decide on my accommodation choices. I have heard the north village is more fun, but is this really true? Does anyone have any experience of the West village accommodation e.g. Northwell House or Manor Hall? They are cheaper, but are they less sociable? Is there something I should be aware of??

North village is quite far out of the way, I wasn't there but I know someone who was and they transferred to be close to uni and city centre.

On the social front, I was in Winkworth (I think this was West village but I actually don't know) and it was still very social, had a common room which was used very often, we had events and things as an accom and went out together etc. I think it depends on the JCR and how active they are putting events on but also just the people who are there obviously!
