Lord of the Flies?

Hii!! I'm going Lord of the Flies as one of my texts for English literature, and I see barely anyone talking about it. I pretty much just want to bounce ideas around, I feel like it's a surprisingly effective way to revise rather than just watching Mr Everything English lmao. Anyone else doing it or just read it?

Hey, I have studied lord of the flies. And my tip for you is make a model answer for each of the characters. So, make a model answer on 'Ralph', 'Jack', 'Piggy', 'Simon', 'The Beast', 'Roger' and then model answers for the key themes such as 'civilisation vs savagery', 'innate evil in mankind', 'fear', 'danger'

I got a grade 9 in both lang and lit in my gcse's by AQA and I am currently doing aqa a level eng lang. SO i can mark any essays you have wriiten on lord of the flies if you want.

'Lord of the Flies' is a great text, and has so much scope to 'bounce ideas around' with.

I'm happy to get the ball rolling, as well as have a look at any exam Q answers you write.

So ... the concept of leadership ... would things have been different if there was a female presence? ... the role of belief ...

Hi, I am doing (Scottish) National 5 English, I am also not able to find many discussions on lord of the flies.

Would that not be too many essays/quotes to memorise ?

Find good quotes (10 should be fine for LOTF). Preferably, find quotes which cover a character and a theme and more. For example, if you're planning to finding a quote for Jack, find a quote that links to Jack and innate evil in mankind, and savagery

i loved that text

if you're aiming for nine's look at freud's elements of personality (id, ego and superego) and relate those to the characters. to summarise, jack represents id, ralph represents ego and piggy/simon represents superego

i used that stuff as context in my analysis and ended up with a really good mark

Same here Freud is a great context theorist. Especially for lord of the flies and Jekyll and Hyde as well
