University Offers

Hey guys, I was wondering if I firm a uni but come results day I decide to go to a different university that I'd applied for through clearing is there a chance I'd be accepted or do they totally withdraw my application and everything??

Uhm I’m not too certain but I believe that if you want to enter clearing, you must reject all your offers before you can do so. Therefore it’s either one or the other.

When you make your Firm and Insurance choices your other choices automatically disappear and you cannot get them back - this is why you need to make a careful Firm choice to begin with.

IF your other Unis have spaces on Results Day (they may not) then there is nothing to stop you phoning them, but they are not under any obligation to offer you a preferential place just because you originally applied to them. And you will be at the back of the queue for accommodation because you are applying through Clearing - again no preferential treatment..

For all of these reasons its not a sensible strategy to have a s a 'plan B', and its far better to either make the right decision about your Firm choice now and live with it, or to drop your entire UCAS application and reapply to 5 new choices next year. if you really are that uncertain about what you actually want to do.
