Hello applicants and future students 😀

First of all, congratulations on your offer! Just a quick reminder: make sure you accept your UCAS offer by June 6th. Second of all, how are you feeling? Excited, stressed, or a mix of both? As you start planning ahead, it is natural for questions to pop up. Let's tackle them together!

DMU is all about fostering the feelings of belonging and community, which is why Your DMU Community has been crafted. If you are keen to fully embrace DMU life and ensure you are well-prepared for the exciting journey ahead, getting acquainted with DMU Community is the key. Let's dive into all the crucial details together. Ready to get started?

Your DMU Community events

Regardless of your chosen field of study, there are Applicant Events just around the corner. These events offer a fantastic chance to connect with future coursemates, gain valuable insights from lecturers and current students, and attend enlightening subject talks that provide a sneak peek into your course and student life at DMU. Be sure to book your spot in advance!

In addition to Applicant Events, you are welcome to join us for a Campus Tour or an Open Day.

Campus Tours are scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 1 pm. Led by a current DMU student, these tours offer more than just a glimpse into campus life. You will have the chance to explore our beautiful external spaces, engage in friendly chats with current students, and visit the key spots like the Kimberlin Library, Student Union, QEII Leisure Centre, and a sample flat in one of the student accommodations.

Plus, the vibrant Leicester City Centre is just a short walk away a must-visit if you have the time. You will even be given a courtesy call the day before your tour to ensure you have all the information you need for an unforgettable experience. Secure your spot through the provided link above!

Open Day is crafted to offer you an authentic taste of life at DMU and your chosen course. You will have the chance to delve into course talks, learn from the experiences of current students, embark on a guided tour of our campus and top-notch facilities, and venture into Leicester city centre. Furthermore, you can explore our accommodation options.

The day kicks off at 9 am and wraps up at 3 pm. Explore all the exciting opportunities awaiting you during Open Day via this link and book through the provided link above.

Block teaching

DMU has introduced an innovative and student-friendly teaching approach known as block teaching, aiming to make your learning journey smoother. Here is the scoop: You will focus on one or two subjects at a time for a block's duration, with regular assessments at each block's end no cramming for year-end exams! Moreover, your straightforward timetable will ensure you can fully engage with your subjects while making the most of your university life. Dive deeper into block teaching via this link!

Did you know that DMU offers guaranteed accommodation?

As a first-year student, rest assured that your new home awaits as you step onto campus. Our accommodation options are conveniently located within walking distance of campus, making it a breeze to navigate university life. Being on the edge of the city centre means you are just minutes away from Leicester's vibrant attractions. Choosing the right place to live is a crucial part of your university experience.
