Hull York foundation year in medicine

Hello, I wanted to ask does Hulk York do an access. What I mean by that is that in some Universities they lower down your grades based on many factors for example, your income etc.

Hi there,

It's great to hear you're interested in studying at the University of York!

Hull York Medical School (HYMS) do make reduced or alternative offers for the MBBS for applicants who meet certain contextual criteria. You might also want to consider applying for the HYMS Medicine with a gateway year course, which is a widening participation initiative with lower grades required for entry. I'd also recommend checking out our offers page for an overview of the grades required for each of the routes into medicine at HYMS.

I hope this helps! - Hannah 🙂

Hello,
The BTEC grade for a foundation year in medicine is DDD, could they lower it down for example to DMM through what you just stated?

“Applicants must be studying the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Applied Science (Biomedical Science) pathway. We are unable to accept any other BTEC pathway.

Applicants applying with predicted grades should have a prediction of no lower than Distinction, Distinction, Distinction (DDD).”
