Show Flats - Uni of Southampton

I am considering a show flat for accommodation - I'll be going into first year starting September 2024. I'm thinking of Glen Eyre both standard en-suite and enhanced plus en-suite options for this.

Does anyone have any experience with living in a show flat at UoS? If people are coming in and out of the flat, will they be coming into my room too or just unoccupied rooms and the kitchen areas? Does it mean I'll have less flatmates?

Thank you

Hello,

Final year Bm5 student at southampton here 👋
I’ve stayed in Glen Eyre in my first year, but not in a how flat. However I have given accommodation tours as a student ambassador.
From my understanding occupied rooms aren’t shown during tours, only 2-3 rooms in a flat are open and staged for viewing alongside the kitchen and shared bathrooms if they are any. I guess being in a show flat means you will have less flatmates, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, more space in the kitchen 😅
Best advice would be communicating with the accommodations team as they are the best at answering that question . Here is their email [email protected]

Hope this helps you with your decision. Don’t hesitate if you have any other questions
