University Vet Med entry requirements

Hi

Does anyone know if any of the Vet Med unis accept near misses ( I.e entry requirements are 3 x As at A Level but a student gets 2 x As but may only be a mark off a Grade A for the third one. Also, do they accept slight differences in grades( I.e instead of 3 x As, a student gets A* A B)?

Thanks

Each uni will have their own criteria for near misses. Students can be lucky and get accepted despite not quite meeting the offer but its certainly not something to rely on.

It depends. So universities give out more offers than they have places (varies from uni to uni but some are like double offers to places). This is because not everyone will accept offers or get the grades. So if they havent filled the places then they might accept grades below the offer. As far as I am aware this is not common.

It did happen to me but I was a covid year and I applied for april entry to nottingham which the year i applied went into clearing (only vet course im aware of that does this but not up to date with the new ones).

One thing you can do is if you've interviewed at 4 places even if you dont have offers phone their admissions up on results day as there is occasionally a place or two but this only really happens if you've interviewed at a university.

So its a possibility but i wouldn't expect it.
