Any advice or improvements for my Question 2 Language? (English Language Paper 1)

The writer conveys Mr Fisher’s views on books and stories of his past through linguistic devices which emphasise the playful imaginations.
He describes the experience of reading back when stories “ran like gazelles, pounced like tigers and exploded like rockets”. By comparing these stories to “rockets”, “tigers” and “gazelles” it reflects the dynamic and lively nature of the stories and how avidly he read them.
Alternatively, the verbs “ran”, ”pounced” and “exploded” may suggest that reading acted as a way to escape reality and explore when he was younger.
The writer also continues with short, repetitive sentences throughout when Mr Fisher recalls “there were heroes; there were dragons… there were space adventures” - This alters the pace of the extract giving it an excitable tone which highlights Mr Fisher’s genuine enthusiasm as he reminisces about books and stories of the past.
