BSc Podiatry SMAE institute

Has anyone completed or studying towards a distance learning BSc Podiatry degree through the SMAE institute? It's accredited by St Margarets University.
If so, what are people experiences with support, workload and content of the degree?
I know there is no student funding available so I would need to find the funds each year for the fees. Which is a bit of a worry. I’m also a mature mum of three that needs to keep working to pat the bills. Is this possible??

Many thanks in advance 😊

The juice is not worth the squeeze. NHS podiatry jobs are not easy to come by and the few students that get them are normally picked out the bunch during university clinical placement. Podiatry is a very niche profession and if you qualify non conventionally you will not stand a chance of fitting in.

The same company run a foot practitioner course; they can offer a lot of the same treatments as podiatrists , the public don't really know the difference to be honest ... if u want to save yourself a fortune and disappointment this is your best route

Hi, could you explain this 'NHS podiatry jobs are not easy to come by and the few students that get them are normally picked out the bunch during university clinical placement. Podiatry is a very niche profession and if you qualify non conventionally you will not stand a chance of fitting in.'
I'm just going into Podiatry Level 2 and have seen some similar replies to the fact that NHS jobs are hard to come by?
And do you mean that you get picked depending on your level of quality in placement?
What does qualifying non conventionally mean as well?
Thanks

Well I studied in one of the unhealthiest Cities In Western Europe and they told our year in order to obtain a NHS job we would prob need to relocate. snr students were also worried about job prospects and they were getting ready to graduate.

The few that got NHS jobs were capable students, more importantly their faces fitted. They have such a choice of student's that they can hand pick who they want.
