FM as an A-Level

im picking my alevels this year (starting Y12 Sept 2024) and ive sort of got a fig tree situation going on (as in im stuck between a bunch of different professions so im trying to keep as much options open as possible)
im picking Chemistry, Physics and Maths as my first three options but for my fourth im stuck between History and Further Maths

I'd like to know if FM is really hard or not because some people say there's a really big jump between Maths Alevel already? i covered all fm gcse content and found it rather easy and im currently getting 8s and 9s in maths w/o revision so im interested in knowing whether it's hard or not.

some people say FM is easier than maths alevel but others say it's the hardest alevel out there so i wanted to know how hard anybody reading this considers it and if it's worthy of taking as if i do im not interested in doing an AS only so i wanna do it for the full 2 years

if anybody's wondering why my other fourth option is history it's because I'm stuck between engineering, law, medicine and finance at uni

If you enjoy maths and find it easy rn, you'll enjoy fm, y12 content was fine tbh, y13 is where it gets harder but still v interesting. But yeah id defo recommend doing fm 👍

Though history may diversify your portfolio if you wanted to go into law, FM is much more esteemed and would help a-lot if you’re considering going down the route of engineering and finance, or any other relevant path, where some top uni courses require for you to take it at a level. Plus with an a level in maths being a requirement for most law courses anyways, its unlikely you’ll need history if you have maths. If you’re up for a challenge, I say you take up FM.
