Dissertation or not?

I'm really confused if my course has a dissertation at the end of it or not..
I can't find anything on google saying either way

My course title is BA (Honours) History, I assumed that the honours would indicate a dissertation at the end but I can't find anything in the modules I'll be doing for my final year saying that (24/25)
I'll be doing A327 and A340

There's the normal 5 or 6 TMAs and an EMA but nothing to say that the EMA is mega or anything like a dissertation

So it looks like your course doesn't have a dissertation as BA History has a heavy research aspect to it already. Hope that helps.

There's nothing that suggests that though in the module descriptions, not that it would put me off or anything I've already signed up!
Plus what about the honours in the title too that can't just be for some research can it??

Sorry I'm a bit clueless about it all, the info is just so vague sometimes

I'm a little confused what you mean. You'd still get an honours degree with your current modules, it's just that your degree doesn't have a dissertation. It doesn't make it any less valid than a degree from a brick uni though

Sorry, I mean like when you google what 'honours' means in a degree it comes back with it meaning it's a representative of the dissertation at the end, and you can opt out of the diss but the hons would be dropped if that makes sense

So does that just not apply to my degree? I'll get an honours degree without the dissertation?

Oh ok I see what you. With OU degrees that's not the case as all undergrad degrees come with honours, you just need to pass your stage 3 modules. Say you were to fail one of those modules, that would give you a DipHE insteadsince a degree without honours isn't offered at OU. So yes it doesn't apply to your degree
I see what you mean*

No worries, I'm also jealous as my OU degree is in a subject with a dissertation unfortunately 🥲

Weirdly though I was kinda looking forward to writing one, I'm really interested in my two modules next year
But it's a relief at the same time lol
