Accomodation (BAE Systems preston sites)
Can anyone help with finding accomodation for a degree apprenticeship at BAE Systems samlesbury? What's the best town to live in/recommend accomodation/ areas to avoid. Viewed student properties in preston city centre and they weren't the best. Any help would be much appreciated!

Try looking for apartments in blackburn. IF you have a car then its only a 10 minute commute time
I wouldn’t even recommend Blackburn, personally the rent here is so high for an average apartment you looking at 1.2k a month including bills. My advice will be look how many times you have to be in the office, try to commute back and forth from work as I’m starting a grad programs in south Wales and will be going from Blackburn and commuting. Rent near Preston will probs be higher also, look at place like Accrington

Hi, I’m having the exact same problem!! I’ve just received an apprenticeship at BAE Warton. We can’t seem to stay in student accommodation (something to do with the tax I was told). LMK if you find anywhere please!!!!
I believe you can stay in student accom provided you pay council tax. However I viewed a few student places the other week and I private let is probably the best option. Personally I'm gonna try avoid student accom

Hi, I'm a current degree apprentice based near Preston. DO NOT go for student accommodation, you will be ripped off and feel like you live in a jail cell. Best option is to look for shared housing, or if you can afford it rent a place out yourself. Look on SpareRoom, Rightmove etc. PM if you need any other help.
