student finance mistake

hello! i applied for student finance, and accidentally chose an option that didn't apply to me. i only realised when I got an email asking for evidence for a circumstance that had nothing to do with me! i saw the cancel application section and was wondering how long after cancelling can I reapply? and can I cancel by calling the number or would they make changed for me?
