Ye, there’s an interview for it and if you get accepted you complete the G2M year but then have to do the UCAT and medicine interview at the end of the G2M year

Wait so what u have to still get a good ucat and MMI score 🫠

So do G2M students get any advantage compared to A100 students when applying?

You don’t have to do ucat and mmi after gateway at all unis, but I think that the fact there’s a course that allows people to do medicine that maybe didn’t get the right grades is amazing!

Hi there, congratulations. If you don’t mind sharing, what were your conditions.

Hey it was unconditional

Oh nice, I assume you’ve exceeded the requirements AABB. I had also gotten an offer, but my conditions were to get AB advanced higher. So I was curious to know if anybody else applying had any conditions similar to mine.

The interview is a mmi, three stations each lasting 5 minutes and 2 questions per station. The stations focussed on Motivation to study medicine, teamwork and professionalism/core qualities. The station topics are on the Aberdeen uni website and there's other information on there also. If you're only applying to G2M Aberdeen I would defos put other course as a backup. Would you be applying to medicine and gateway as a backup? Or G2M first choice? I'm really enjoying the course so far! Definitely apply, and if you have anymore questions I'm happy to answer or message separately

Thank you for your reply. I am thinking about only applying to Aberdeen g2m as my first choice, as I am not eligible for the other g2m courses in Scotland. I'm quite worried about the interview, as I am really passionate and want to do the g2m programme.

If you apply and get invited to interview it will most likely be start of April, that’s when mine was. It’ll just be about yourself so please don’t worry. They just want to get to know a bit about you and why you want to study medicine. The interviewers were lovely, and before a medical student took us to a room and spoke to us a bit about uni in abdn which made me feel a little less nervous.

Thanks again, Im hoping to send my application off soon, do you know how long it took roughly for them to get back to you after sending your UCAS application?. Also did you apply to the other g2m courses along with aberdeen g2m?

do you know whether the interviews are sent after looking at grades or whether the interviews are sent to everyone eligible for the course and after the interview the grades are then considered?

do you know how many spaces are available and how many ppl applied for got interviewed?

G2M is a competitive course and there are a lot more applications than spaces available. But I wouldn’t get too caught up in the numbers - some people apply as a backup or get offers elsewhere, so not everyone who applies or even gets an offer will necessarily take up their place.

When I was applying, hearing exact numbers just made me wayyyy more nervous, so I’d try not to focus too much on that!

I’m not entirely sure how interviews are allocated - whether they send them to everyone eligible first or if grades are considered beforehand. But I do know that some people got conditional offers while others got unconditional ones, so grades definitely play a role at some stage in the process.

Does anyone know what status you need to have for G2M? I am Scottish domiciled with pre-settled status. Do you need settled?
