Gateway to Medicine Aberdeen

Thanks again, Im hoping to send my application off soon, do you know how long it took roughly for them to get back to you after sending your UCAS application?. Also did you apply to the other g2m courses along with aberdeen g2m?

G2M is a competitive course and there are a lot more applications than spaces available. But I wouldn’t get too caught up in the numbers - some people apply as a backup or get offers elsewhere, so not everyone who applies or even gets an offer will necessarily take up their place.
When I was applying, hearing exact numbers just made me wayyyy more nervous, so I’d try not to focus too much on that!
I’m not entirely sure how interviews are allocated - whether they send them to everyone eligible first or if grades are considered beforehand. But I do know that some people got conditional offers while others got unconditional ones, so grades definitely play a role at some stage in the process.

do you know if after completing the course you as long as your ucat and interview is good you are guaranteed a spot at 1st year medicine. I’ve heard that only half of the gateway to medicine applicants actually get into medicine, but i’m not sure how true that is

Oh nice, I assume you’ve exceeded the requirements AABB. I had also gotten an offer, but my conditions were to get AB advanced higher. So I was curious to know if anybody else applying had any conditions similar to mine.

You have to pass everything in semester 1 to get an interview invite. In semester 2 pass everything and the interview and ucat.

Aberdeen has got back to me and gave a rejection but put me on a waiting list. Is anyone else on the same boat?

Hey I want to ask how did the interview go in general?

I can't lie I thought my interview was awful like I had a minute to spare in every station and sat there in panic, everything I had practised left my mind too so idk
