LSE Accommodation

hi everyone,
currently looking at accommodations at LSE. What do you guys think are the pros/cons about rosebery, holborn and bankside? And which do you think is the most suitable for a first year undergrad?

Hey, I'm at Bankside. I don't know very much about Holborn but think I heard that the vast majority are international students so that may be suitable for you if that's what you're looking for. The other two are also quite international though, as is the whole of LSE. Bankside is the biggest LSE accom at around 600-700 people whereas I believe Roseberry is around 200. Both offer catered dinner included in the rent whereas I'm not sure if Holborn does (you can check online). The menu at all catered halls is the same and the food tends to be decent. You get very good portion sizes and it's nice to have the option to just go down to the canteen after a long day on campus. As Bankside is the biggest, it can get quite cliquey as people find their friends quickly in the first week or two and don't move groups much after that. On the plus side, you potentially have a larger pool of people to choose from. Roseberry apparently has more of a community feel and thus isn't as cliquey. Whereas you'll never get to know everyone at Bankside over the year as there's so many people and groups don't mix much, everyone at least knows of most others at Roseberry. The rooms at Roseberry are also more modern. Bankside rooms are completely fine functionally though, they just look more outdated. Another consideration is that at Roseberry, you'll be sharing showers and toilets with multiple people. At Bankside, if you opt for a shared bathroom you will only ever be sharing it with one other person.

The majority at Roseberry and Bankside will be first years so either is fine in that respect. I don't know enough about Holborn to say.
