Can Uni of York lower its grades if i choose to firm it?

I'm planning on applying to York next year for Law, but not sure i can achieve AAA. Is it possible that York will lower it's grades to AAB if I choose to firm it? Thanks in advance!

I've not seen anything on their web site which suggests that they do, nor heard of anyone saying that it's happened to them. So, in all likelihood, your offer grades will remain at AAA.

Whether, in A level results day, they choose to confirm the place of any "near miss" candidates (e.g. those achieving AAB) will entirely depend on how many places (if any) are available after they've confirmed the place of offer holders who have met their grade requirements.

Hi! You can read our information on contextual offers to see if you are eligible for a reduced offer. I'd also suggest contacting the York Law School to see if they can advise further as each department works slightly differently 🙂
