Car travelling towards a person- physics

Hi, I don’t understand why when a car travels towards a person, the amplitude increases? I thought the amplitude stays the same and the frequency increases?
Thanks!

The amplitude increases because as the car is getting towards you it's also getting louder. There is no formula. It's like if there's a speaker and you walk towards it the volume is louder. If the question has asked you to explain why amplitude increases (I've never seen it) I'd assume it would probably involve talking about energy and stuff.
