Why do I like punishing myself?

For example, if I get bullied by a person who may come to my set class at GCSE, I would ask the teacher if I can go down sets. That's punishment and it also has consequences because I end up with a lower grade and in science I end up with one GCSE and not 2. I also end up failing because single science class learn foundation and so they do separate science papers because they can't juggle information like I can and do combined science. I also find it hard to do higher (teacher expects me to do higher while the class learn foundation) and would not be able to attempt it and my old set class didn't cause nearly as many problems. I may have gone down sets for no reason because this bully may not have come to my class (set 2 to set 5 because she likes the teacher). It's very hard to find a teacher that can teach me science and my science teacher in set 5 was the only one that managed to get something in my head and make me pass higher. I also like using the control of food to deal with emotional problems and other ways.

Don't let people control what you do. At the end of the day, you're the one who is going sit those exams, you're the one choosing your career path, you're the one living your life and no one can live it for you. Don't let a bully dictate how far you push yourself academically. By the time you leave school and get your grades, you will go on to live your life, and so will they. I would advise you to push yourself, despite your teachers not supporting you. Try and revise and learn on your own. It's easier said than done, but it needs to be done. It's normal to turn to food to deal with emotions- I do it too. But you have to remind yourself of the damage it can do to you physically and mentally. Essentially I am advising you to prioritise your future and your wellbeing over people that make you feel discouraged or incapable. Hope this helps
