Respect to the police officer who eliminated him and the guy fending him off with a metal post.
The attacker has been named as Joel Cauchi, mr cauchi apprwntly has suffered mental health issues
Interestingly (or depressingly) several right leaning commenters tried to label this a religiously motivated attack. Their posts either stayed up for a day before being removed, or are still up now. I’ll let you guess what religion they were blaming.

As above, this is looking very much like this was caused by MH.

Of course they did. The first thing these ghouls do when they hear an event like this has taken place is turn to Twitter to make sure they are staying relevant.

Maybe they were getting confused with this religiously motivated attack that also happened in Australia.

There was no confusion. People were claiming that this Sydney mall stabbings was an Islamic attack before the stabbing in the church took place.

For instance, Rachel Riley's original post can be seen here. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13309071/countdown-rachel-riley-accused-islamophobia-false-claims-sydney-attack.html

The reality is of course this seems to be some misogynist loser.

Its a sad fact of life alas, not helped by professional trolls like 'aussie Cossack' and the like.
On the other hand, not at all justifying it, but when mass stabbings happen the vast majority do happen from a single source so its not completely unreasonable for people to jump to assumptions. If somewhat idiotic though.
