GYG by a procrastinating year 13

I've seen a lot of people do GYG posts so I'm hoping this will bring me LOTS of motivation to begin revising like a goddess!!

Subjects I'm studying:

English Literature (edexcel)
Media studies (eduquas)
Psychology (AQA)

Current grades:

English literature - C 😬
Media - A*
Psychology - A*

Predicted grades/ the grades I really want 🙏

English - B 🙏🙏🙏
Media - A*
Psychology - A*

I feel like I really need to ramp up the revision to achieve these grades, especially in Psychology as there is soooo much content, but I will keep updating this everyday (as long as I remember)!

Also I've applied for BSC Psychology at Manchester (AAA), Exeter (ABB), Southampton (AAB) and Oxford Brookes (BBC).

Good luck to everyone - manifesting good grades 🧘🏻🍵

So today so far I've done 3 hours 42 minutes - not as much as I wanted to do but still a decent amount! I did 6 hours yesterday and was up quite late so I woke up at like 9 and then finished off writing a context factsheet for A Streetcar Named Desire. (so I've finished making all my resources (apart from a few critic quotes for streetcar which I'm planning to do on Monday at school ahhh) for Paper One).

I then got a headache so was asleep for like ages lol.

At around 4 onwards (once I'd gotten over the headache) I've been re-learning/ re-capping over all the revision cards I've made for social influence (Psychology) and then I'm going to have finished re-learning all of Paper One for psychology. I'm hoping to finish with social influence tomorrow but realistically it will be by Monday. I'm going to try and do 45 more minutes of social influence!!

Plans for tomorrow:

Social Influence flashcards

finish annotating The Eve of St Agnes

Sunday April 14th 🫧

So I've done 3 hours 43 minutes of revision today - not as much as I wanted to do but still a good chunk. I managed to get some more Social Influence cards completed so now I've only got Asch and Milgram's studies left to look over and then I've completed my revision for Paper One.

I've still got 10 stanzas of Eve of St Agnes to finish re-analysing - but I'm almost there and I'm pretty proud of myself as it's a 42 stanza narrative poem which is crazy.

Tomorrow

Finish Eve of St Agnes

Recap Zimbardo and Asch

Do a paragraph of a King Lear essay I've already started

Monday 15 April 🌧️

So I managed to complete all of Paper One revision for Psychology and also (finally) finished annotating the Eve of St Agnes! I didn't do the paragraph for King Lear but that's going to be the top of my to do list for tomorrow, as I definitely need to get some essay practice in for English to grow my grade 🙌!

Today was also my first day back at school for summer term and I managed to get 4 hours 16 minutes of revision done today!

Also thank you for all the messages of support 🩷

To Do Tomorrow:

King Lear essay paragraph

Look over evaluation for Asch and Milgram

Attachment essay questions (if I have time)

Get at least 4 chapters of Frankenstein read

at first I was hesitant about Keats but now I literally love - finding poetry (somehow) the easiest to revise as definitely the most interesting! Are you doing alevel English lit?

Wednesday 17 April 🏃

The pressure is on.

I'm feeling the tense energy at school which is not the vibes I need at the moment - but also is kind of aiding my motivation - so it's a bit of a win lose situation. But anywaysss.

I managed to get 5 hours 4 minutes done today!

From today onwards I'm going to try and do minimum 4hours a day - but I really struggle when I get home from school to do work but I'm just going to have to power through it arghhh.

What I did:

Revised The Times

Revised Black Panther

Partly revised Have you heard George's podcast?

managed to get effects analysed as well as Please Hold (ew)

went over attachment (mind maps etc)

...and I also organised my biopsychology revision cards into sections for like least known to most.

To do Tomorrow:

Year 1 biopsychology

2 poems of Keats

learn the 15 attachment researchers you identified as not knowing (I detest attachment ughhhhhhh)

Oh my gosh - I forgot to do yesterdays! I managed to get all of this done apart from the Frankenstein thing - which I've given up on as I feel like it's a bit of a waste of time rereading it.... 😵*💫

Thursday 18 April 💤

I did 4 hours 6 minutes today - I REALLY need to start trying to do 5 hours a day to try and maintain my memory for all the stuff I'm going over!! So I'm going to try and push for 5 hours for these next few weeks 💪

I managed to get a few of my Biopsychology cards completed and managed to analyse two of the Keats poems - so not much but I'm already feeling mentally exhausted so trying to pace myself a bit...

To Do Tomorrow :

A Keat's poem

A modern poetry poem

get through as many biopsychology cards as possible

I've got a full on day at school tomorrow (5/5 lessons ugh) so can't really do much there and know I'll be tired when I get home - but a little bit is better then none!!!
