Berms are 1-2m high ridges of material (sand and pebbles) deposited by high tides. There may be multiple on the beach. they mark the position of high tide.
Storm beaches are deposited during high energy storm conditions, and are much further up near the back of the beach. They are made up of coarser (larger) sand, pebbles and boulders which get thrown up the beach by high energy destructive waves
Storm beaches will often remain untouched due to how far they are back on the beach. On a picture there may be berms in front of the storm ridge further down the beach.

Hope this helps
