Question for my module

Read through this.
Report: 30% weighting, 40% pass mark.
Learning Outcomes: 1, 2 & 3.
Outline Details: 1500 words.

Exam: 70% weighting, 40% pass mark.
Learning Outcomes: 1, 2 & 3.
Outline Details: Closed book exam. 2 hours.

All elements of summative assessment must be passed to pass the module:
Scores for this module are aggregated in accordance with the weighting. To pass, students must achieve an overall/aggregated mark of 40%.

The module is, however, subject to a component rule derogation that has been approved by Academic Council, to the effect that where the module has two assessment modes (coursework and examination) that assess different Learning Outcomes a pass threshold of 30% should be adopted for each assessment that contributes more than 30% to the overall module mark. This means that students must not only achieve a mark of 40% overall but must also achieve no less than 30% for each component of assessment.’
So right now I got 85% on the assigment, if I get 30% on the exam would I pass or fail. Because it’s saying it’s a 40% pass for the exam but the bottom bits a little confusing . Thanks 🙏🙏

In that scenario you'd fail the module. This is because "All elements of summative assessment must be passed to pass the module" and the pass mark for the exam component is 40%.

Although it goes on to say "where the module has two assessment modes (coursework and examination) that assess different Learning Outcomes...", that doesn't apply as both components are assessing the same learning outcomes.
