psychology or human geography at university??

so right now i'm doing psychology, geography and biology (which i loathe) and i'm in year 12 and i can't decide between psychology or human geography at university. i've always enjoyed the human side of geography since secondary school however i've only been introduced to psychology this year and i love it so far. however i don't really know what i want to do in the future as unfortunately i haven't really found a passion for anything :frown: in psychology i like learning about the background of behaviour in every day life e.g. conformity, attachment, relationships, approaches and that stuff and not so much the forensic stuff. human geography on the other hand i just like learning the subject at school and there isn't anything specific i'm interested in. i am also doing equally well in both subjects so far
i hope this makes sense, i just really need to figure out which subject to do at university 😅

Psych at most Unis is ludicrously compétitive, and not really worth the race as your chances of being able to get a grad job in that field are so slim, and most grads will end up in an entirely different career area. Look around at other subjects like
Sociology (Hons) | BSc | University of Southampton
Childhood Studies | Study at Bristol | University of Bristol
Health and Social Care, BSc (Hons) - Swansea University
Anthropology BA : University of Sussex
Law and Criminology LLB | Undergraduate study | The University of Sheffield

Hey there 😀

Fortunately, you still have ample time to make this decision, and it is an opportunity to delve deep and conduct thorough research.

Drawing from my own experience when torn between business and psychology, here is some practical advice that helped me navigate the decision-making process.

Firstly, carefully review the course details, including modules descriptions, to identify what resonates with you and captures your interest.

Next, attend a few Open Days to gain insights into the courses you are considering, participate in taster sessions to experience the teaching style firsthand, and engage with current students who can offer new and valuable perspectives.

Lastly, explore potential career paths associated with each course and reflect on where you envision yourself and which career paths align with your interests and abilities.

I hope it was helpful 💪 Feel free to reach out if you have any questions 😉 You can also chat with me or other students directly through The Ambassador Platform.

Take care,
