98877766554 + special circumstances - are these gsces bad for getting a RG uni offer? and likelyhood of having a successful Cambridge application
This is both dependent on the course and your A level grades. Your GCSEs are fine for most Russell Group universities and most courses. As long as you meet GCSE requirements for a course, you will be fine. GCSEs only make up a small portion of a Cambridge application. Your other stats are equally as important and Cambridge tend to be more lenient than Oxford when it comes to GCSEs. However there are no GCSE requirements for Cambridge (apart from I believe medicine and veterinary medicine), so whether your GCSEs are “good enough” is down to your application as a whole. They use a holistic admissions process, so unfortunately, the only people that can tell you whether you’d be likely to get in is Cambridge themselves. As long as you aren’t applying to competitive courses or universities with GCSE requirements that you don’t meet, you’re GCSEs will not disadvantage when applying to Russell Groups, because for most courses, they simply aren’t that important. Your A level grades and personal statement count for much more.
