Any mature students starting this year?

I'll be 26 when I start if I do this year, currently going into Wildlife and Conservation.

Hi @hereisamemory

Great to hear you are hoping to study here with us at Bangor University.

Have a look at this useful link:

I can guarantee there will be many mature students joining you here

Let me know if you have any further questions

Hiya, I'm Cara! I'm 21 and I'm hoping to study either Biology, Zoology, or Zoology with Conservation.

I was worried about being 'old' compared to the other students because I've had a lot of life experience for my age, have settled down and have a partner etc. but speaking to one of the Deans at the visit day in last month really reassured me!

Turns out that mature undergraduate students are more common than I thought, and they tend to form their own groups if that makes sense! For example, the younger students will go out clubbing etc. while the mature students will come together to do their own thing. Not that they're 'separate', but it's just what tends to happen as people find out who they get on with best!

Are you local to Bangor or are you moving to the area to study? I lived there for years, but I moved away to Surrey in 2022. I'm moving back there after realising how lucky I was to live there in the first place!

Hi I’m Billie,

A recent graduate from Liverpool Hope!

I turned 26 this year and was so worried about fitting in when I first started studying, turns out there was nothing to worry about in the slightest. Going to university was the best decision I have ever made. That feeling when you cross the finish line, collecting your degree is feeling I can’t begin to describe.

Anyway I just wanted to pop on here and wish you all the very best. I hope it’s everything and more you’ve ever hoped for.

Good luck🤞🏼🍀
