What'll happen if a uni told me that my application is given to other schools?

Hello, I applied to universities via UCAS and I received an email from a university telling me that my application is "being forwarded to the relevant academic school(s) for consideration by the admissions team".
I understand this might mean that this uni thought that my academic background is not that relevant to what I applied.
However, I do feel confused that I haven't found a refusion signal on the UCAS. What will happen after this stage? Can I write an argument and provide further information proactively to show that I am an ideal candidate for them and let them rethink about their choice?

You have not yet found "a refusion signal on the UCAS" because the university would rather not simply reject your application. Instead, they've forwarded it to other schools within the uni which might offer a related or similar course, in which case they'll update UCAS not with a rejection but with an alternative offer (i.e. for a different course than that which you applied to).

As for trying to persuade them that they're making the wrong choice (in not offering you the course you applied for), I've never heard of that working. Why not wait and see what they offer as an alternative?

Just sounds to me like a generic email from the admissions team saying they've sent it on the to relevant department to look at. The (s) is probably just a standard bit of text. Unless it's from the actual department for the subject you've applied for, saying that they've sent it to OTHER departments, i wouldn't worry about it.

Academic school is a uk university term for a department or faculty.

In the UK school will never be used in this way to refer to another university.

is that the precise wording? I would imagine it basically means the departments you are applying for, as there is a central team and individual admissions people handling applications for each subject.

Knowing which Uni this was would help.

Big thanks for all the replies. I was confused and anxious before because as an international student, I don't know much about how the UK unis will deal with applications... Anyway, I did receive some offers recently, so I guess they just need some time to process and that kind of email was informing me that they got my applications. Again, thank you very much!
