Hi I study psychology but it's not what I expected and wanted to get on the mental health side of things how do I go about it
Hey do you do psychology a level? If u do, most of aqa psych is not mental health based so if u want to get into mental health you could do a course at uni focused on it? There is some content about mental health in the psychopathology topic like depression, phobias, ocd etc but thats about it really.

If you're studying Psychology at degree level, finish your undergrad first, then there are many postgraduate options to focus on mental health, whether that is research, training to be a counsellor or becoming a clinical psychologist. There will be some content in undergrad Psychology related to mental health and you may be able to focus your research project in this area also depending on what your university offers. But having a Psychology degree accredited by the BPS will leave the most options open for specialising in mental health later.
