Business School

Hello,

DS is closing down to his top 2 for Business management. - but still not convinced.

Has anyone studied at the University of Leicester business school and Business management?

why should we make this No1 choice?

inserted in the type of lectures/ support /social life/ is Brookefield too detached from the city campus to mingle and get the best experience

TIA
Hello,

With regards to Lectures, in the first year you will typically have 9-10 hours a week of timetabled sessions around 6 hours of lectures and 3-4 hours of seminars or small group work. When not attending lectures, seminars or other timetabled sessions you will be expected to continue learning independently through self-study. Typically, this will involve reading journal articles and books, working on individual and group projects, undertaking research in the library, preparing coursework assignments and presentations, and preparing for exams. To help with your independent learning, you can access the library and social study spaces in halls of residence and our learning spaces at Brookfield.

There are a lot of support for students at Leicester whether that is accessibility support, mental health support, peer mentoring and so much more, please check out this page to read more about it.

Brookfield is not detached from the main campus, this is a map of our campus, there is a free shuttle bus that does take you to and from the main campus. It's also just a 20 minutes walk if you are happy to walk when the weather is great!

Reasons to put down Leicester as your first would depend on what you are looking for in a university. I have found Leicester to have amazing lecturers who are passionate about teaching and doing research. Besides the courses, Leicester has a vibrant social life and you will meet so many people from diverse background and you won't run out of things to do and places to visit. It is really close to Birmingham (50mins), London (1hr) and Nottingham (20 mins).

Hope this gives you an insight, please feel free to ask any more questions and I will be happy to answer them.
