Receiving my loan but wanting to drop out

Hi,
I am currently in my 2nd year of study and we are about to go back after easter into the last term and the student loan is due the day we go back. I had to come home due to mental health and have since decided that I want to change courses and universities. I have got an interview coming up for a college to study an access course to enable me to study course I want to change to. I need my student loan so that I can pay the bills and rent for my current university, will I be forced to pay my loan back it back instantly, even though I will be going straight into another study in September?

Hi there,

When you withdraw we will require an electronic Change of Circumstance (COC) from your university to confirm the date you last attended your course. Once this is received and processed our assessors will recalculate your entitlement for the length of time you attended the course which may lead to an overpayment. If you have an overpayment you can either pay this back right away or agree a payment plan with the collections team, or when you do return this will be removed from your future entitlement. Once the university notify us this will block the next payment automatically so depending on when they do this you may not receive it. Just to clarify though, is the new course going to be at the same level and is both the university and course going to be different? Thanks, Jason
