If this is serious, try to maximise your time representing your research and analysis! The coursework component is really important as it is marked as well as the final pieces.

When you say work - as in the final coursework piece or the sketchbook?
You should speak to your teacher (as I have no idea which exam board you do) and ask if you get some special consideration given the evidence you have of your work.
