How to write ancient history essays

I get all the content but I just don't understand how write the essays for example: to quote Herodotus, should I just put my source in brackets or should I write out the whole quotation? Is there a set essay structure that I should follow?
I'd also like to know that

When quoting Herodotus, it's best to include the full quotation within quotation marks along with the source in brackets. This ensures proper attribution and clarity for your reader. As for essay structure, it can vary depending on the type of essay and your instructor's preferences, but a common structure includes an introduction, body paragraphs with supporting evidence, and a conclusion summarizing your main points. Plus, don't forget to use tools to proofread your work (I also use paper writer app) before submitting it.
