i have a few questions regarding the lsf: can i apply for it even if i havent firmed anything? when will i get it if i am eligible? can i take out both the 5k and the maintenance loan?

You need to apply for student finance first and apply for both the maintenance and tuition fee loans. You don't need to firm a uni to do this - just pick your most likely uni for now as it can be changed easily later. Once your student finance is confirmed, then you can apply to the NHS LSF. My DD applied for the NHS LSF once she had finished her A level exams, and it was processed pretty quickly.

For courses starting in September or October, NHS LSF payments are made in November, March and July. Your maintenance loan instalments are usually paid at the start of each term.

Do you need to get SFE loan to get this grant or cant you self fund and still apply? I am still deciding whether to self fund or get a loan from SFE and have not confirmed my offer yet.
