Put wrong name on my parents student finance application.

I've applied for student finance for the academic year 24/25, but when filling in my parents details, I messed up and put down my mother's married name, when her SFE account is under her maiden name. As a result, she cannot get onto my application on the student finance website to support my application.

Will I have to cancel my application and start over, or is there something I can do to rectify this without having to start over again?

Hi there,

If the details provided by the student don’t match with their sponsor(s) e.g., middle name has been included or excluded, the sponsor may be unable to link to the student’s application online and land on the following page: We then advise getting them to do the PFF2 form instead. This can be digitally uploaded onto your account or their account and updates in an estimated 18 working days: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/65afcca870218e000cb41f9a/sfe_pff2_form_2425_o.pdf

If she wants to update her last name she can upload a cover letter asking for this to be changed from X to Y along with a copy of her marriage certificate to her account. Thanks, Jason
